Fall has officially started! Many shoe lovers know better than anyone that autumn is always a challenge to keep their shoes clean. Rain, mud; the threats are lurking. We at First Amsterdam are happy to give you a helping hand to ensure that your shoes are and remain clean this fall!
Are your shoes still clean?
Then you are just in time to prevent them from getting dirty. To keep your shoes clean you could of course leave them at home, but you can also wear them with pride!
By a protective spray By applying it to your shoes, your shoes are protected against liquids, stains and water. Apply the spray about 15 centimeters away from the shoe. Let the shoes dry naturally (not in bright sunlight or by blow-drying, etc.) before putting them on and going outside. Your shoes are then protected for a long time against rain, spills, dirt and grime! Spraying once is enough to enjoy the protection for a long time, handy, right?

Remove dirt
Start by removing any dirt or debris from the surface of your shoes. Use a brush to brush the surface of your shoes, paying special attention to areas that are particularly dirty or abraded. Do you have shoes made of vulnerable material? Then use one carefully brush with soft bristles.
Use a suitable cleaning agent
Use a cleaning agent that has been specially formulated for use on your shoes, such as: Premium Cleaning Solution and follow the instructions on the package. Fill a bowl with water and add a few drops of cleaning solution. Stir the solution a little through the water with the brush. Dip the brush and scrub your shoes where there is still dirt or stains. If you still have visible spots you can use a soft cloth and apply some cleaning solution to treat the stains. Be careful to approach this differently with vulnerable materials such as suede.
Let your shoes dry
Let the shoes dry naturally (not in bright sunlight or by blow drying, etc.).
You could use shoe trees to prevent your shoes from deforming made of wood or made of plastic.
Protect your shoes
As we said at the beginning of this article:
